Our Curriculum
At St Catherine’s Roman Catholic Primary School we believe that children learn best when they are motivated, happy and interested which is why we have developed our curriculum to be exciting and interesting.
Our curriculum is underpinned by Rosenshine's principles of instruction. This means we are encouraging the children to learn more and remember more through our teaching and spaced recall of learning. There is a consistent teaching sequence across the curriculum with a focus upon writing across all subjects.
We use subject knowledge organisers, pupil books of knowledge and focused questioning to secure pupils knowledge and understanding. Teachers make links with other learning to support children's understanding.
